Harmonia: Goddess of Music
Harmonia: Goddess of Music
I am the goddess of music and lyrical poetry. I play with inspiration and give artists challenges along the way. How do you think Beethoven became deaf? Why did I do it? Have you ever heard his music? Ah, so there is a method to my maddness.
My name is Harmonia. I am the daughter of Ares (the Greek God of War) and Aphrodite (the Greek Goddess of Love & Beauty). It seems a strange combination, but I turned out better than my folks did. I have a heart and I have compassion, both important qualities they lack. My mother is too busy causing trouble to be interested in me, and my father . . . *sighs* what a piece of work! He wanted me to kill my aunt, but I wouldn't. He made me mortal and cast me out of Olympus. I felt so confused and so utterly alone. I lost myself in dispair.
Finally I pulled myself together and found a new place to call home. I spend most of my days now in a place called the Dark Citadel. I have grown very close to my aunt Eris (the Greek Goddess of Dischord and Strife). I have a little black kitten named "Licorice" who was a gift (from someone very special ^_^). I have found love with a wonderful man, Rayahn. He has lifted me up to new hights that far surpass Olympus. I love him with all my heart.
Even though happiness had found me, all is not always well. I'm sorry to say my father still visits me from time to time. I dread his entrances, they always lead to a fight. But as I grow stronger, I will overcome him...and I will truly be free.
Words of Wisdom:
"What good is immortality is you cannot love?"
"Music expresses what the heart feels and what the mind cannot understand."
"Let the music save your soul."
"Music paints a picture on silence."
"What is simple is true."
